<small>No skipping hiragana day for you</small>

The [*Iroha*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iroha#Text) is a classical Japanese poem that's a pangram (contains every letter once, well, except *n* ん, which didn't really exist when it was written) — essentially the Japanese equivalent of ["The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_quick_brown_fox_jumps_over_the_lazy_dog) Of course, since it's classical Japanese it includes *wi* ゐ and *we* ゑ too.

I have it here written twice, once with kanji and modern orthography, and then once with the original orthography in only hiragana.

There are some differences in the modern orthography compared to classical:

- modern orthography has *dakuten* (voicing mark, e.g. ゛), \
  せ**す** → せ**ず**
- *mu* is now *n*, \
  なら**む** → なら**ん**
- *wi* and *we* are now *i* and *e*, \
  う**ゐ** → う**い**, **ゑ**ひ → **え**い
- *o* in the middle of a word is no longer written as *ho*, \
  に**ほ**えと → に**お**えど
